Funeral Rites, Memorial Tattoos & Teachings with Bonnie Jane Maracle and Crystal Kimewon (In-person)

Bonnie Jane Maracle is a traditional teacher on site at First Nations House that is Wolf Clan, Mohawk Nation at Tyendinaga Territory. Bonnie Jane Maracle holds a BA in Indigenous studies from Trent University, a BEd and MEd from Queen’s University, and she is a PhD candidate (Indigenous Studies) at Trent. Crystal Kimewon is a Certified Tattooist & Body Piercer, Anishinaabe Kwe & Helper (Social Work), Social Justice Advocate and Art-based Peer Engagement Facilitator. Together, they will be discussing the importance of tattoos, teachings and funeral rites.
