Victoria University in the University of Toronto will mark The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by launching a yearlong project in the foyer of its iconic Victoria College Building, in the space where the portraits of former presidents and principals are displayed. Reflections on Art & History at Victoria University will consider how Victoria University’s history is presented through artwork, and will launch with an event on Friday, Sept. 29 at noon in the foyer of the building. A frame with educational material will be hung in the place where a portrait of one of Victoria University’s founders, Egerton Ryerson, was previously displayed. The yearlong event will also feature art takeovers in the space by Indigenous and Black student artists.
